Managing Organizations

CKAN is structured around organizations that can publish and manage datasets.

Creating an Organization (Admin Only)

  1. Admin Panel: Navigate to the admin section and select "Organizations."

  2. Create Organization: Fill out the organization’s name, description, and image/logo (if required).

  3. Assign Members: You can assign roles to different users within the organization, such as:

    • Admin: Full control over the organization and datasets.

    • Editor: Can edit datasets but doesn’t have full administrative control.

    • Member: Can view datasets and resources but not edit them.

Managing Organization Datasets

Organizations can assign specific users the role of dataset maintainers. These users will have the ability to upload, update, or remove datasets on behalf of the organization. This centralized management ensures consistency and compliance with data governance policies.
