Connecting your SandBox device to your network is straightforward with the USB key method. By following these simple steps, you ensure a hassle-free setup.

Preparing the USB Key

Before connecting your SandBox to the network, you’ll start with an essential step - configuring a USB key. This key acts as a bridge, carrying your WiFi network credentials.

Use the USB key provided with SandBox

The WiFi Configuration File

On your computer, open a text editor modify a file named wifi.txt. This file will hold your WiFi credentials in a straightforward format:

ssid=YourWiFiNetworkName

password=YourWiFiPassword

Replace YourWiFiNetworkName and YourWiFiPassword with your actual WiFi network name and password.

Save the wifi.txt file to the USB Key.

Connecting the SandBox Device

Insert the USB Key

Locate the USB port on your SandBox device and insert the prepared USB key.

Power On the SandBox

Turn on the SandBox device. Upon starting, the SandBox OS automatically scans the USB key for the wifi.txt file and reads the provided network credentials.

Connecting to Your Network

After reading the credentials, your SandBox will attempt to connect to your WiFi network. This process is automatic, and if successful, your device will be a new member of your network.

Locating the SandBox on Your Network

Once connected, you’ll need to locate your SandBox on your network.

Use a Network Scanning Utility

Depending on your operating system, various utilities can scan your network for connected devices. Use such a tool to identify the IP address assigned to your SandBox device.

Access the SandBox Web Interface

Open your preferred web browser and enter http://[SandBox_IP_Address] into the address bar, replacing [SandBox_IP_Address] with the actual IP address you found.

Logging into the SandBox

Upon accessing the web interface, you’re greeted with the SandBox login page. Default Credentials: The default username and password are user and sandbox, respectively. Enter these credentials to log in.

Configuration

After a successful login, you’re free to remove the USB key. You can now configure your SandBox, setting up WiFi or Ethernet connections as per your requirements.
